Why collect aluminum pop tabs?  By collecting the pop tabs off of aluminum beverage cans, you can make a difference in the lives of the families at the Ronald McDonald House. A small yet significant way schools, organizations, families and individuals can become involved is to “pull” for the Ronald McDonald House of Jackson.

If you think that your aluminum pop tab donation won’t make a difference, think again! For every pound of pop tabs collected, the House recycles the tabs and receives the current rate for aluminum. In the two seconds it takes to pull the tab from your beverage can, you can help pay $8.00 per night room fee for families unable to pay. However, the Ronald McDonald House never turns away anyone due to his/her inability to pay.

The Ronald McDonald House is a non-profit organization and is operated by funds raised through special events, individuals, community groups and corporations. We are not a United Way agency and receive no state or federal funding. If every school, civic organization, and individual collects aluminum pop tabs, the lives of thousands could be touched.

Pull those tabs for the Ronald McDonald House and encourage your friends and family to do so as well. Pop tab donations are accepted year-round.

Our Mission

Support families who have a child in a local medical facility experiencing serious illness by providing caring, home-like lodging through Ronald McDonald House; and fund grants for programs which comfort and assist children.

After countless committee meetings, fund drives, contributions, promotions and four years of hard work, the Mississippi Ronald McDonald House opened its doors on May 1, 1989.

Since that time, it has been a "home away from home" for families of seriously ill children who must travel to Jackson for medical care. The Ronald McDonald House is a home where the families of critically ill children can temporarily reside in a caring and comfortable environment; a place where they can share their fears and concerns, receive the support of others who are in similar circumstances and gain strength during the most difficult time in their lives.

Our concern for families and children goes beyond the four walls of the house.  In 1996, we broadened our mission to become Ronald McDonald House Charities. In this expanded role, we use the expertise we've gained and the network we've built over the years to provide grants to area not-for-profit organizations that share our interest in issues affecting families and children.
